Day 13

“A song that reminds you of a former friend.”

This one is tough. Unfortunately, since being diagnosed with PTSD and deciding to deal with it by going to therapists, taking time off work, taking medications and a acknowledging the difficulties I go through, I lost some friends. Apparently they didn’t like Holly without the “everything’s hunky-dory” mask.

I thought for awhile about a song for them; the friends who walked way, but I want to remain positive throughout this musical journey. So instead I’ve choosen a song that reminds of 2 childhood friends.

We all lived on the same street in a small village (about 200 people). K. and S. were a year or two older than me and we would often play and listen to music. I remember listening to K.’s 45 of ’65 Love Affair repeatedly. I’m sure K.’s mother got tired of hearing it through the walls.

I lost track of them after we moved to the other end of the county, but when we moved back, several years later, I went to high school and college with S. She’s a Facebook friend now. I’m not sure what happened to K., but I hope she’s happy and still loving this tune.

  2. Love you staying positive! And, I love that this morning I’ve finally learned what that guy was saying… I never knew it was “65” love affair!

  3. It’s not always easy staying positive but it is certainly better to be so.

It’s a real work in progress for me, that’s for sure. The sunshine over the last couple of days has definitely helped me stay more positive.
